How long should you wear Invisalign per day?

You need to commit to wearing your Invisalign aligners for 22 hours per day. This will leave you with plenty of time to remove your aligners at meal times and to brush your teeth. If you think that you will struggle to achieve this, a fixed orthodontic treatment might be more suitable.

Can teeth be straightened at any age?

Absolutely. There is no age limit for teeth straightening provided your teeth and gums are healthy. Don’t be put off by the stereotypes. You can undergo teeth straightening at any age. And the modern range of invisible and removable aligners makes this easier than ever before.

Is teeth straightening painful?

You may experience slight pressure on your teeth following an adjustment or when you switch to a new clear aligner. This is to be expected as the materials are exerting force on your teeth to push them into the correct position. Making small and gradual adjustments helps to achieve better results with far less discomfort. You should be able to control your pain with an over-the-counter pain medication such as paracetamol.

Can you brush your teeth with braces on?

Our hygienist team will provide complete home care instructions so you can feel confident caring for your teeth and braces. Removable aligners allow you to brush your teeth as normal, while fixed aligners will need a little extra care and attention to keep them clean.

Do removable braces work?

Yes, removable braces are made from innovative materials that are just as effective for moving teeth as a fixed bracket and wire aligner. Removable aligners will only be effective if you can commit to wearing them for at least 22 hours per day. If you think you might struggle to achieve this, fixed aligners might be a better fit for you.

Is it worth getting teeth straightened?
