Dental Implants from £1,800: A Guide for Patients in Cranford, Heston & Feltham
Losing a tooth can be a serious knock to your confidence. It can also cause further problems for your oral health down the line, including misaligned teeth, receding gums and a loss of support for surrounding teeth.
Thankfully, dental implants offer a second chance following tooth loss. This innovative treatment plan can pave the way for a full mouth restoration, allowing you to feel confident in your smile again.
As this treatment plan becomes more affordable and more accessible, patients are choosing dental implants over alternative treatments such as bridges or dentures. If you’re exploring this for the first time, we’re put together this short guide to help you understand how it works and what you can expect.

What are dental implants, starting from £1,800?
A dental implant is a small titanium screw that is placed in the jaw bone. This fuses with the bone, forming a solid anchor foundation for an artificial tooth. A single implant can be used to support a single crown, or we can use multiple implants to support a larger bridge or a full denture.
Since the dental implant is placed in the jaw, this restores your bite and your smile. The force of the bite is absorbed by the jaw and not the surrounding teeth or gums, which helps to keep the jaw bone functional and prevents loss of bone density.
How does the implant procedure work?
Dental implant placement takes place over multiple visits, usually spaced apart by a few months. The first appointment involves making a small incision in your gum and then creating a pocket in the jaw bone. We place the implant inside and then close the gum on top.
This is then left to heal, which typically takes a few months. At your next appointment, we expose the top of the implant and then attach something called a healing abutment. This sits above the gum line and connects the implant to the crown.
Again, this is left to heal and the gum is contoured around the abutment to help create a very natural looking finish.
Finally, you visit the practice for a final time to place the crown. This is permanently fixed in place, so only a dentist will be able to remove it. Some dental implant dentures are attached to strong magnets which allow you to snap these in place.

Aftercare following treatment
The biggest concern following dental implant treatment is the risk of developing gum disease. This kind of infection can spread to the implant, causing damage to the jaw bone socket. If left untreated, this can cause the implant to come loose and fall out.
Good oral hygiene following your implant treatment is therefore essential. You’ll be given aftercare advice that will include brushing and flossing daily. We also recommend regular professional cleanings, as this will help to remove all traces of plaque and tartar build up from your teeth.
Dental implant cost
The cost of dental implants will vary by practice. Our implants start at just £1,800, which offers incredible savings when you consider the lifetime value of this treatment.
While treatments like bridges and dentures might need to be repaired and replaced over the years, the dental implant is designed to last a lifetime with good care. The crown might need to be replaced after 10-15 years, but the implant part should not need to be replaced.
There are some factors that might influence the overall cost of your treatment, including the need for bone grafting at the start of treatment to help increase bone density. This can all be discussed during your initial consultation. Book today to learn more.
